Honor Prep is a tuition-free public charter school in the University area of Charlotte. Scholars learn in English and Spanish from their first day, in classrooms where Spanish-speaking and English-speaking families sit side by side. Our scholars graduate reading, writing, and thinking in both languages.

The mission of Honor Preparatory Charter School is to empower scholars through dual-language education to become bilingual and biliterate, embrace cultural competence, and excel in college and the world beyond.
We envision a future where every scholar is bilingual and uses languages, leadership, and a love of learning to expand opportunities for themselves and others.
Families in the University area of Charlotte wanted a dual-language school they did not have to pay for, and there was not one nearby. Honor Prep opened in August 2025 to answer that. We started with kindergarten through 2nd grade, and we add a grade every year until we reach 5th.

Scholars learn in English and Spanish every day, in every subject. Whatever language a child speaks at home is something we build on.
Scholars make real decisions about their own learning and take responsibility for how it goes.
There is no tuition, no entrance test, and no SSN required to apply.
We teach the NC Standard Course of Study in two languages, and we hold scholars to it.

Our Parent Advisory meets through the year to help plan school events, review policies, and bring us what families are hearing at home.
